What to do when your bank branch closes
The news has come out recently, in newspapers and on radio shows, that because so many Canadians are doing online banking, banks will be closing some branches in 2017. (I have not heard any word yet with respect to credit unions.)
Many people choose to keep their original Wills and Powers of Attorney in safety deposit boxes at their bank branches. So be careful!
If you hear of your branch closing, make sure that you arrange for another place to hold these important documents, so that they don’t get lost.
Powers of Attorney are particularly important to have in a safe, secure place, so make sure that if your branch closes this year, you arrange to find another safe place to hold them.
